Do You Even Chino?
The time of year has come, for LA at least, for chino weather. It's a very exciting time because here in LA, it's transition season so we can wear whatever we like without feeling out of place. Anything is fair game, turtlenecks, shorts, heavy coats, light weight floral dresses; it's all ok and that's awesome.
Now, to get to the point of this blog post, chinos. I love a good chino pant. They're versatile pieces that don't break the bank. A solid chino will never go out of style. My pick is these relaxed, slightly cropped, straight leg chinos from Everlane. The fabric is sturdy but not too heavy and the color (ochre) is a rich neutral that goes with everything.
The chinos from Everlane have my vote for so many reasons. I love that they're ethically produced. They don't wrinkly easily and the material is pretty resistant to dirt and stains. I just throw them in the wash and hang dry them, super easy! They feel durable yet soft and the colors are the richest neutrals that go with everything. I love the relaxed fit; I can rollup the bottoms for a more casual look, or throw on a belt and boots to dress them up. They're so easy to wear and so comfortable. They're like warm hugs for your legs.
Everlane, if you've never heard of them, is an ethical clothing and accessories brand that focuses on quality and transparency. They only work with ethical factories and are open about the true costs of their products. So dope.
I styled my chinos two ways:
1. I dressed up my chinos with a bright red trench and vegan leopard ankle boots from Golden Ponies. The bright colored trench and leopard print everything trends are really popular right now but what I love about them is that they're timeless if you choose the right pieces. I opted for classic pieces that make bold statements without being hard to wear. My advice is to choose pieces that go with more items in your wardrobe so you can still be on trend but also get the most use out of your investments.
The bag is LaBante London, by the way.
2. For a dressed down chino look, I paired my chinos with a cotton sweater from Everlane, and classic white sneakers from Matt and Nat.
These two looks have the same root outfit: chinos, chunky belt, and a white tee. Just change up the accessories for completely different looks and you'll get the most out of your wardrobe. Get your chinos here.
