Zero Waste Eating On The Go

March 8, 2019

Zero waste may seem super daunting to some of you. I get it, I remember feeling completely overwhelmed at the idea of going waste free when so much of our culture today produces tons of waste. Much of the waste we produce is from things we don't really think about like wrappers, water bottles, plastic grocery bags, and disposable utensils.

I vividly remember the day I decided to carry bamboo utensils with me everywhere. I was at a coffee shop and I was waiting for the person in front of me to finish dressing up their coffee and grab napkins and utensils before I could grab the fork I needed from the utensil cup. The forks were prong-up and the person in front of me must have touched them all while they separated one out from the rest. I was horrified! After that I swore I would never be in a situation where I was faced with using someone else's hand inoculated fork or to eat the veggies out of my bowl using only my face.

All that to say that now I carry bamboo utensils with me and it's been so handy! This awesome set from Tiny Panda comes with everything you need and a cute carrying case to boot! I never leave home without it and I just give everything a quick wash when I get home every night so it's ready to go with me again the next day. They include a straw brush too!

They even throw in a bamboo charcoal toothbrush with a travel case! It's a great little brush and, again, so handy to have around.

I've found bamboo to be much nicer to carry around that metal utensils. They're light weight yet strong and this set from Tiny Panda gives you so many options so you can enjoy your sushi with chop sticks, your soup with a spoon, and your grilled veggies with a knife and fork. Then, if you're like me, gulp down your coffee with a straw so you can keep coffee stains off your lovely white teeth.

Oh, and did I mention they're an amazing price?! Grab your set here. Happy zero waste eating!
